Tristan Al Hadad: Space Index

High Museum of Art, 2006

Hope Cohn Projects commissioned Tristan al Hadad to create a dynamic and reactive sculpture for a temporary installation at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia. Museum visitors were encouraged to engage with the piece, which challenged notions of art as precious, art as static, and art as exclusive while simultaneously molding the spatial cognition of the users/players in the space. As users [or environments] touched the piece, the forces created a loose dance and pulsation within the piece that demonstrated a direct cause and effect context of interaction.
